The mask is what we present to the world to create an image of who we are. We may have many masks that we wear, depending on the people we are with or the situations we find ourselves in. Sometimes we can become so attached to a mask that we begin to believe it is who we really are. Yet behind the roles, expectations, defences and adaptations we have gathered through life is something more authentic: our own authentic individuality.
So, if we are wearing a mask, what purpose has it served? What exists behind it? And what might happen if we feel safe enough to explore what is really there?
This is what we will explore together in Behind the Mask.
During the workshop, we will create a representation of the masks we wear and begin looking beneath them. We will explore where these masks originated, what may have shaped them, what they have protected, and what healing may now be needed. Through deep psychotherapy, guided inner exploration and regression work, we will explore the patterns that have influenced the way we relate to ourselves and to others.
Authenticity does not mean exposing ourselves indiscriminately or abandoning healthy boundaries. It is about understanding who we are beneath our defences, developing the courage to express that truth when it feels right, and learning to recognise the difference between protection, habit and genuine choice.
What you can expect from this workshop is a deeper understanding of who you are beneath your defences, greater clarity around the patterns that shape your relationships, and the opportunity to explore new ways of relating to yourself and others with greater awareness, choice and authenticity.`
We will create a confidential and compassionate group space, with a shared commitment to respect, care and support for everyone in the circle.
